About Kate Powell

Kate was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia and grew up sewing with her mother and grandmother. She made clothing for friends and family and continued to explore sewing as a hobby throughout college. In 2004, Kate took a year off from the University of Delaware to pursue modeling with Major Model Management. During that year, Kate became interested in styling, preferring the creative control she was afforded while working with wardrobe rather than as a model. As a stylist, she worked with several notable photographers and magazines, helping to style editorials and photo-shoots.

Kate returned to the University of Delaware in 2005 to complete her degree but continued to study fashion independently. After graduation, she returned to New York City and has been working as a stylist for the past six years. Her client list includes television hosts and personalities, recording artists, photographers, New York City event and marketing companies, and personal styling clients. She has worked on events for Chambord, Milagro Tequila, Stolichnaya Vodka, American Express, Nissan, and New York City Fashion Week.

She has been lead stylist for shows with MTV and Sony Pictures Television. She also worked as a stylist on season 9 and 10 of "What Not To Wear, and is Fashion Director for Westfield Malls' seasonal magazine, Westfield STYLE.
